A Full Stop or Period is the punctuation mark placed to indicate the end of sentences. In generally it's called dot(.).

A Full Stop is used after some abbreviations. If the abbreviation ends a declaratory sentence there is no additional period immediately following the full stop that ends the abbreviation.

Rule To Use Full Stop - पूर्णविराम को उपयोग करने के नियम

Rule 1. To mark the end of a sentence which is not a question or an exclamation.

  • Delhi is the capital of India.
  • I was born in India and now live in China.
  • The Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people.

Rule 2. To indicate an abbreviation.

  • I will be in between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • C.P.U. is abbreviation of Central Processing Unit.

Rule 3.Sometimes a single word can form the sentence. In this case you place a fullstop after the word as you would in any other sentence.

  • "Goodbye."
  • "Hello."
